The only good novels about vampires were the oldies, and especially Anne Rice with IWAV, or The vampire lestat.
The only fairly recent vamp books I could get into was Sookie Stackhouse because there was sex, and swearing, and not just googly eyed love.
Fuck books like twilight, and vampire diaries, and the house of night novels, no offense to those who like them…
I just think I’m more literate than that. I need depth in a novel………

I started reading the Twiglight ones before all this hype. I liked them a lot, and still do. But, it is getting ridiculous going to a book store to look for a book and all I see is different types of vampire novels. I really don’t even go to the book store anymore because of it, I’m tired of seeing it.

I agree! I was a huge fan of twilight when the first novel came out. It was a good casual novel to sink your heart into, but like.. what 2 years ago? it became such a huge ‘sensation’ just because little girls liked what Edward represented. I don’t think the Fans now care much about vampires, just the fact that Edward is ‘perfect’ and just happens to be a vamp. Now when I tell people I love vampires, they just assume it’s because of twilight..
